1.1 Particulars of Organization, Functions & Duties

The office of the Development Commissioner, Falta SEZ has been established in the FY1984-85 under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India to look after the export promotion activities of various items by organizations that came up in the FSEZ area covering 280 acres. Falta SEZ has implemented eOffice.

1.2 The power and duties of Officers & its Employees

Development Commissioner is the Head of Falta Special Economic Zone, Kolkata supported by officers including officers from customs department. His duties cover the entire administrative & financial area of work including issuance of license, allotment of land/Sheds/Staff Quarters etc. to the company who set up their business at Falta SEZ. The functions relating to Customs are discharged by the officers posted in the SEZ on deputation from the organization of CBEC. These officers functions under the Administrative Control of Development Commisioner, Falta SEZ.
