ACME Group has secured a landmark Green Ammonia offtake agreement with IHI Corporation, one of Japan's leading engineering and infrastructure companies. Under the agreement, ACME will supply 405,000 tonnes per annum (405 KTPA) of Green Ammonia to IHI Corporation. The agreement represents one of the largest Green Ammonia offtake commitments from India to Japan. The Green Ammonia project is being established as a joint venture between ACME Group and IHI Corporation at the Tata Steel Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Industrial Park, Gopalpur, Odisha, which falls under the jurisdiction of Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ). The project is expected to be commissioned by July 2030. The proposed investment in the project is approximately ₹67,000 crore. The project is expected to create around 7,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The development will give a major boost to Tata Steel SEZ, Gopalpur.
Achievement 1: Press Briefing on the Achievements of Falta SEZ
A Press Briefing was held at the Press Club, Kolkata on 10.06.2026 highlighting the achievements of Falta Special Economic Zone over the last 12 years and its significant contribution to India's export-led development. The following press release was issued by PIB Kolkata on 10.06.2026. The major achievements are as follows:
- Total exports increased more than eight times, from ₹10,469 crore in FY 2014-15 to ₹85,093 crore in FY 2025-26.
- Merchandise exports registered a growth from ₹2,592 crore to ₹53,439 crore.
- Export of Services increased from ₹7,877 crore to ₹31,654 crore.
- Employment increased from 49,879 Nos to 1,23,829 Nos.
- Investment nearly tripled, increasing from ₹15,563 crore to ₹45,331 crore.
- The growth has been driven by sectors including engineering, textiles, chemicals, leather, food processing, electronics, gems & jewellery, software and other manufacturing and service industries.
- Under the jurisdiction of the Development Commissioner, Falta SEZ, Odisha's first Semiconductor SEZ has been approved. The project is expected to generate exports of about ₹1,250 crore by 2030 and create over 250 employment opportunities in the next five years.
- Presently FSEZ has 55 approved units, of which 42 are operational, contributing significantly to exports and employment across eastern India.
Achievement 2: International Day of Yoga 2026
International Day of Yoga 2026 was organized at Falta Special Economic Zone, Falta on 21.06.2026 and this event was held simultaneously and in harmony with the national event of International Day of Yoga, 2026, led by the Hon'ble Prime Minister at Kolkata, West Bengal. 120 people participated in the event.
Achievement 3: Semiconductor Special Economic Zone
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce, issued a Gazette Notification dated 22.06.2026 notifying M/s Heterogenous Integration Packaging Solutions Private Limited as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for semiconductor manufacturing at Village Goudakasipur, Tahasil Jatni, District Khordha, Odisha. The notified SEZ covers an area of 10.117 hectares (25 acres), marking a significant milestone in the development of Odisha's semiconductor ecosystem under the SEZ framework.
Achievement 1: Export Commencement by M/s Bitumix India LLP
M/s Bitumix India LLP, a unit operating in Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ), declared commercial production on 01.05.2026 and achieved its first export.
The unit exported 310 drums of Bitumen VG-30 to Bhutan with an export value of ₹33.01 Lakh.
Achievement 2: Odisha's First Semiconductor SEZ Approved by 139th Board of Approval
The proposal of M/s Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solutions Private Limited (HIPSPL) for establishment of Odisha's first Semiconductor Special Economic Zone (SEZ) under the jurisdiction of Falta Special Economic Zone (FSEZ) has been approved in the 139th Meeting of the Board of Approval (BoA).

Achievement 3: Letter of Approval Issued to M/s Alkapower Energy Pvt. Ltd.
Letter of Approval (LoA) issued to M/s Alkapower Energy Pvt. Ltd., having LoA No. FSEZ/LIC/A-78/2026/138 dated 07.05.2026, for setting up a manufacturing unit at Falta SEZ.

A Groundbreaking Ceremony was organized on 19.04.2026 by M/s Heterogenous Integration Packaging Solutions (3DGS) for their upcoming project for setting up a sector-specific Semiconductor Special Economic Zone at Infovalley, Khordha, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The ceremony was inaugurated by Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Odisha in the presence of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting and Electronics & Information Technology. Thereafter a site inspection of the proposed site for the SEZ was carried out on 20.04.2026 by an inspection team comprising officers from the O/o the Zonal Development Commissioner, Falta SEZ, officials from the Revenue Department, Govt. of Odisha and IDCO

Letter of Approval (LoA) issued to M/s. Nioma Jewellex LLP, having LoA No. FSEZ/LIC/N-24/2026/60 dated 13.04.2026, for setting up a manufacturing unit at Falta SEZ .
i. M/s A. P. Fashions Pvt. Ltd. an unit of Falta SEZ had submitted notarized legal undertaking dated 18.03.2025 to clear their outstanding rental dues amounting Rs 29,59,125.00 (upto 31.03.2025) in monthly installments of Rs 2.50 lakhs over a period of 12 months. Falta SEZ Authority regularly followed up the matter. The unit cleared all its rental dues as on 31.03.2026 as per its commitment.
ii. FSEZ Authority in its 51st meeting held on 24.06.2025 approved the proposal of extension of Parking Yard, Sector – I, Falta SEZwith an estimated total cost of Rs. 67,00,008.86. M/s. Hindustan Steelworks Construction Ltd. (HSCL) has been issued work order dated 02.07.2025. The construction work has been completed in March 2026.
Falta SEZ Authority and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. have signed a MoU on 19.11.2025 for operation & maintenance of Falta Jetty primarily for the purpose of cargo movement of Falta Special Economic Zone units (and of local industrial units) against payment of annual user fee in advance. The jetty can also be used for ship building / ship repairing activities. This MoU shall remain in force and effect for a period of 10 (ten) years. This MoU may be extended by an additional period of up to 5 (five) years [3 years(1st extension) + 2 years(2nd extension)], subject to mutual agreement in writing between Falta SEZ Authority and Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. As per the MoU the jetty is to be fully operational within one (1) year from the effective date of the MoU.
M/s Natural Product Manufacturers, a firm, specializes in the research and production of various shellac derivatives. The products e.g. bleached Dewaxed shellac , Aleuritic acid and other coating are used in many applications - in pharmaceutical tablet coating, confectionery glaze coatings and fruit coatings.
A unit of M/s Natural Product Manufacturers in Falta SEZ has recently commenced the production in the month of October 2025. Its first export of Aleuritic Acid of USD 140,000 (one million forty thousand dollars) from Falta SEZ to China was done on 16th October 2025. Total investment made by unit in Falta SEZ is 12 crore approx. and 10 employments are generated.
The jetty facility of FSEZ Authority located at Sector IV, Falta, West Bengal was lying idle in damaged condition since year 2019 for want of service provider. The cargo movement to-and-from FSEZ was hundred percent dependent on road transport and the movement of cargo by roads are allowed only during night.
After relentless efforts, one service provider has been selected through open bidding process for operation and maintenance of the jetty and accordingly Letter of Intent issued on 02.09.2025.
This is a milestone achievement as it will significantly ease the business operations, not only of FSEZ units but also of other units in and around Falta.
M/s Daesang Industrial Pvt. Ltd. (a South Korea based Company), commenced production at Falta SEZ, Falta, West Bengal in the month of July 2025, for manufacture and export of socks.
Total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of this unit at Falta SEZ is Rs. 1.20 Cr. and total employment is 25 (Male 04, Female 21).
